Kareen Clarke, professionally known as Queen Kareen, is an award-winning Barbadian singer-songwriter with more than three decades of experience. Her songwriting spans calypso, social commentary, gospel and inspirational music, addressing social issues, celebrating Caribbean culture and inspiring change. Her national and regional achievements include winning the Barbados Song Festival and Caribbean Song Festival and being crowned Barbados Queen of Song. In 2020, she received Songwriter of the Year and Original Song of the Year at the Gospel Choice Music Awards for “Champion.” A 2025 Pic-O-De-Crop finalist with her original social commentary “My Condolences,” she continues to create relevant new work, including her latest inspirational single “Last Time (Praise Him)” and 2026 social commentary “Crown de Woman,” a celebration and advocacy of women in calypso. Her longevity, versatility and purposeful songwriting make her a deserving nominee for Best Zikomo Songwriter of the Year 2026.
